Эффект невинных оговорок бывает потрясающим. Это ведь и с местными бывает. Американский автор как-то слушал по радио в машине трансляцию из зала суда - и чуть в кювет не съехал. Адвокат Американского Союза Гражданских Свобод в завершающем заявлении (насчет переноса позорных калифорнийских выборов) хотел сказать, что, мол, более справедливого иска никогда не подавалось в истории этого окружного суда ( circuit). Но вместо слова circuit он сказал... circus (цирк). Народ в зале на секунду затих, но что потом было... Останется в истории навсегда.Особенно весело, когда вполне нормальное иностранное слово на вашем языке звучит или читается ну совершенно неприлично. Такие примеры легко найти в интернете, см. рис. (Fucking - название немецкого местечка), (Тыквенный ресторанчик китайца Пу ("Pumpkin Poo") по-английски будет "Тыквенное говно"), а также рис. (Каких только названий не бывает) к слову FAG и цв. илл. (Фирменная реклама "Тасо Bell" — сети мексиканских пирожковых. Пример их howler — неприличной опечатки. Вместо "Теперь нанимаем на все смены (shifts)" нечаянно получилось "Теперь нанимаем всякое говно (shits)".) к слову TACO.А вот маленькая коллекция текстов howlers, приведших к большим финансовым потерям.1. Известная компания General Motors потерпела фиаско, пытаясь вывести на рынки Латинской Америки свой новый автомобиль Chevrolet Nova. Как вскорости выяснилось, No va по-испански означает "двигаться не может".2. В США при рекламе пива Coors использовался слоган "Turn it loose!" (Стань Свободным!). Латиносы балдели, ведь по-испански это значит "Страдай от поноса!".3. Парфюмерная компания Clairol представила в Германии свои сухие дезодоранты, используя слоган "Mist Stick" (Туманный Дезодорант). Позже маркетологи Gerber с удивлением узнали, что в Африке, где много неграмотных, на упаковках местных товаров принято изображать их содержимое.
